My New Year's Day

A year ago today, I arrived in Kamloops. One whole year has gone by since I have been surrounded by Tim Horton's, dozens of different ethnic groups, my family, my friends, my old life. In one year so many things have changed.
A got a good job that involved a 7 minute walking commute. The people are great, the work is great, my boss bi-polar at best.
Made a friend. Actually he is my husband's best friend and I have stepped in. We became great friends, perhaps a little too close for some people, but he and I are cool. He can be cranky, he's got issues.
Then January 7th, 2006, my life changed. A BFP (big fat positive). It seems over Christmas, we conceived a baby. And since then, I'd say 80% of my waking hours are spent thinking about this child. Words cannot express who I feel about becoming a mother, so I won't even try.
So here I sit. I am very pregnant. I have a great job as does my husband. We have a home that we moved into back in April. We have 2 vehicles--one of which is a minivan. One of my dearest friends moved to Kamloops and hopefully will also get close to my husband's best friend!
Yep a lot can change in a year. Last year at this time, none of those statements I just made were true. I am happy here. Sure I miss my family and friends. Sure I miss the amazing shopping malls and diversity. But this is my home.
Don't tell anyone here that I shared this...They may get the wrong idea!
