Does this register?

I did it.

I registered. I went to Toys R Us, Walmart, Zellers and a local baby store and found that Toys R Us had the best selection, but not necessarily the best prices; but anyways I digress.

I wasn't planning on doing this at all. I have no family here, no friends. I have my in-laws (who are wonderful and ecstatic about the first grandchild) and co-workers, but nothing I would count as a friend. This has been a constant source of sadness for me. I miss my family and my friends. Its not about the money, it really isn't. Its about the whole experience, dozens of women crowding my mom's home; many of whom I don't know; with food, desserts and presents in tow. There is tonnes of laughter, stories and predictions of the baby's gender. Its really cheesy.

I won't get that. I sat here at this computer for over 2 hours, registering lots of baby stuff, daydreaming and holding back tears.

I try to stay positive. We have been blessed. After almost 2 years of trying and at least one loss, we are having a baby. We have a home--complete with a mortgage! We have great jobs that we enjoy. We are healthy. We have also been financially blessed by Michael's family--that's how we got the home, so what if we have to shell out $1500 in baby gear. God is good!

I just want a party...Don't even get me started about my birthday....

Very nice, but the animal theme is a little boyish I think. Maybe find some nice pink kitties to put in there ^^~~
